Visit Toulouse, the “Pink City”, named after the bricks that give its buildings their unique atmosphere; Montpellier, the Mediterranean city with its pedestrian historic centre and architecture ranging from medieval to contemporary; Nîmes and its Roman monuments such as the Arena and the Maison Carrée, now listed by UNESCO; or Carcassonne with its two UNESCO-listed sites: the medieval citadel and the Canal du Midi.

Food lovers will also be spoilt for choice. Roquefort cheese, aligot, truffles, foie gras, tielles from Sète, gardiane de taureau, Camargue rice, Toulouse sausage, oysters and shellfish or the famous cassoulet… There are countless regional specialities and local products to enjoy during your holiday in Occitania, all accompanied by wines from one of the world’s largest wine-growing regions.

In the heart of the Grands Causses, Navacelles impresses with its deep cliffs and spectacular views. Look closely: at the bottom of the canyon lies a tiny village.

At the eastern edge of Occitania, the Camargue gardoise immerses you in landscapes of lagoons, marshes and wetlands beside the Mediterranean Sea. Here, pink flamingos, Camargue horses and bulls reign supreme.
