Do you know Loix?

Loix is a small village which encapsulates all the charm of the Île de Ré, and which lies right in the heart of the island's salt marshland. It is made up of lots of little white-fronted houses with shutters painted in all the hues of the sea. An idyllic setting for holidays on the Atlantic seaboard.

You really are bound to fall in love with this pretty little village on the Île de Ré, as you stroll through its maze of alleyways. And as you wander through the cool streets, you'll probably come across the church of Saint Catherine with its square tower, at its centre. Continuing down a cobbled street, you'll find the market, where you'll be able to buy some of the local produce, including salt harvested from the area around the village.

And if you carry on your stroll through Loix, you should make sure you have a look at its harbour. Choose one of the various paths leading to the Pointe de Grouin and its fort, where you can soak up the breathtaking scenery, featuring the ocean, fine sand and wild nature.
