Which means you can explore the castle itself before heading for the military governors’ room where you’ll find the museum. It explains the history of the town based on its archaeological remains, notably the Visigoth stones. You’ll soon discover all there is to know about the town of Sines! Then, head towards the Torre de Menagem (the clock-tower) to discover Vasco da Gama’s house. This renowned Portuguese explorer is considered to be the first European to have reached India by ship.
