Focus on the Ilha do Pessegueiro! Lying on Portugal’s western coast, just off-shore from Porto Covo, Pessegueiro Island forms part of the Sudoeste Alentejano e Costa Vicentina Natural Park. A totally exceptional setting! A fascinating little island that has carefully retained the age-old remains of earlier human occupation, such as a fish salting factory dating from Roman times. Pretty impressive!
What to see and do? In July and August, you can catch a boat across the narrow sea channel to the island for a visit to this delightful beauty spot. And when you’ve finished exploring, how about simply lazing in the sunshine? Opposite the island you’ll find an unspoilt beach that is never crowded. Perfect to enjoy some very special family-time together. It’s also the ideal place to practice your favourite watersports: windsurfing, canoeing, diving... A day rich in discoveries and fun awaits but you. It’s time to head for Pessegueiro Island!
