The Festival des Filets Bleus in Concarneau

Come with the family or with friends and discover the Festival des Filets Bleus in Concarneau. Enjoy its joyful exuberance, enriched with 100 years of Breton traditions!

Come and join in the fun at the Concarneau Festival des Filets Bleus during your camping holiday. Don’t wait to discover this fabulous celebration of Breton heritage, an unmissable event that dates back to the 20th century. In 1905, the sardine, the main resource for the local economy at the time, abandoned the coasts of Brittany plunging the sailors and their families into extreme poverty. Local dignitaries and artists then decided to organise a benefit event to try to help the struggling fishermen: thus was born the Festival des Filets Bleus.

A convivial family event, this little fête in the Finistère has come a long way since those early beginnings. Bringing together thousands of participants every year, the enthusiastic spectators are all bound by a single aim: to perpetuate the traditions of Brittany, for today and for the future. See Concarneau decked out in its party finery during the fun and festivities, experience the very essence of Celtic culture. An occasion filled with discovery and wonder, for you and your family to enjoy.

Between the processions and parades in traditional costume, Celtic dances, games of “palets”, embroidery workshops, fish stalls, cookery demonstrations, concerts and exhibitions, come and discover all the treasures Brittany has to offer. This headline event is the ideal occasion to reconnect with the important things in life. You’re going to love it!

In 2024, the Festival des Filets Bleus will be held on 07 to 11 August.
