You will go home after your holiday completely fit...
Don your walking boots or get out your bike! It's time to set off at a leisurely pace to explore our beautiful region. A cycle path, which is protected from the road, takes you from Contis to St Julien en Born, while another one takes you to Saint Girons Plage or further north to Mimizan. These paths, threading their way through the pine trees bordering the beach, are part of the Vélodyssée route, which goes from Roscoff in Brittany to Hendaye in the Pays Basque, stretching along the Atlantic coast for more than 1,400 km! Over 40km of sign-posted forest footpaths and mountain-biking tracks allow you to go through the Landes forest and its natural heritage. Maps are available at the tourist office (Office de Tourisme), and discovery outings can be organized by the activities team.
Bike rental available in the campsite.
Stand-up paddle, canoeing or kayaking on the Courant de Contis, a rare 450-hectare area of marshland, listed as a "Natura 2000" site. Come and admire the rare protected species, the Mercury damselflies, European pond turtles, otters, herons, kingfishers...
Come and discover this natural environment and spend a delightful time on a river that is accessible to all.
There is a horse riding centre near the campsite, where you can indulge your love of horses and try one of the most beautiful sports in a unique setting: guided visits, excursions on the beach, rides through the forest. It is also possible for real devotees to follow classes and take an exam.
In the Petits Loups beach club on the supervised beach of Contis, the French Surf School will learn you surfing on the waves. A State-qualified SURF and SWIMMING instructor has set up a programme that caters for those aged 5-14 and over wishing to try out or take up surfing, or to improve their technique.
