Campsites adapted to padel fans

In just a few years, padel has become highly popular across Europe with new courts appearing everywhere, confirming the sport’s growing fanbase. Likewise, many of our campsites now offer modern facilities, with the possibility of borrowing or hiring equipment (rackets and balls). To take your game to the next level and add some excitement to your stay, you may even find introductory lessons or tournaments held on site.

Depending on the campsite, court access may be free or subject to a fee. In most cases, you’ll need to book at reception to secure your spot on the court.

Of course, in addition to padel, our campsites offer a wide range of activities for plenty of excitement and variety throughout your holiday. Make the most of multisports pitches, water parks with waterslides, lively entertainment and the games rooms for many a memorable moment together! And while you’re battling it out in a thrilling match, your children can have fun and make new friends at the Kids & Juniors Clubs.

Padel vs tennis: what’s the difference?

While padel and tennis share some similarities, several key features set them apart:

  • Padel is played on a smaller court enclosed by glass walls, which influence gameplay, whereas tennis is played in an open space.
  • Padel rackets are smaller and perforated, offering a different kind of ball control. Padel serves are easier – you serve underarm, making the game more accessible to beginners.
  • The points system is the same as tennis, with games, sets and victory in two winning sets. However, the glass walls and the faster rallies create a very different strategic approach.
  • Padel is exclusively played in doubles, making it a fast-paced and sociable sport.

Prefer traditional tennis? No problem – check out our Yelloh! Village campsites with tennis courts too!

Take note: Some destinations are also excellent spots for a different kind of “paddle”, used for “stand-up paddleboarding” – similar-sounding names but very distinct sports! You can swap your racket for a paddle and the padel court for a river or lake, and enjoy a gentle outing on the water. So why not try both?
