The idyllic island settings

Have you always dreamed of taking a holiday on an island? Today, Yelloh! Village is taking you on a tour of just a small sample. Another facet of France and Spain that’s definitely worth checking out!

Destination Corsica, the Island of Beauty

Still undecided about where to go on holiday? Can’t decide between the coast or the mountains? It’s a tough choice but Yelloh! Village has a solution. What better than combining the beauty of the beaches with the magic of the mountains? In Corsica, the peaks tower over the blue of the Mediterranean, so in a single day you can trek up the rugged slopes, then enjoy some rest and relaxation on the warm sand of the idyllic beaches.

Corsica has a very faraway feel. And yet mainland France lies very close. Whether you stay in the Haute-Corse or further south, you’re in for a real change of scenery.

The Island of Beauty has so many attractions, all of which are remarkable in their own way. In the Haute-Corse, you can visit Bastia and take a tour around Cap Corse then finish in the town of Calvi with its citadel.

In the Corse-du-Sud, start your visit with Ajaccio and its Îles Sanguinaires (or Blood Islands), then continue to the Gravona Valley and finish your tour with the cliffs of Bonifacio and the magical coastline of Porto-Vecchio.

The Île de Ré: an out-of-the-ordinary destination

Another great idea for an amazing holiday is the Île de Ré, known as “the white island” because of the characteristic colour of its traditional houses.

This island has an area of 85 square kilometres and boasts a vast array of landscapes, with sandy beaches, salt marshes, vineyards and forests. You’ll fall in love at first sight!

For biking enthusiasts, there are 100 km of cycle paths criss-crossing the entire island.

If you want to admire a breathtaking view, climb up to the top of Les Baleines lighthouse, located at the tip of the island. Or if you’ve planned to spend a leisurely day, head for Saint-Martin-de-Ré.

This bustling harbour town is surrounded by ramparts and boasts numerous bistros and restaurants. You can also admire the scenery from the bell tower observatory, which affords a sweeping vista across the whole town.

To end your stay on a high, we have two excellent ideas for you. Explore the Lilleau des Niges nature reserve, home to numerous species of migratory birds. Or chill out in one of the island’s three thalassotherapy centres to round off the day in perfect serenity!

The Balearics, one of Spain’s treasures

Head for one of the Mediterranean’s most popular destinations, the Balearic Archipelago!

There is no shortage of activities on the four populated islands, Ibiza, Majorca, Minorca and Formentera. Whether you’re keen to explore the seabed, contemplate awe-inspiring landscapes or try your hand at watersports, there won’t be a dull minute!

If you’re looking for a leisurely holiday, the beaches of Formentera with their turquoise waters and white sandy coves are the perfect place to unwind. Further inland, you’ll fall under the spell of the caves, lakes and salt marshes. Not to mention the magnificent juniper forests…

Want to go partying? Ibiza is simply unbeatable for its sparkling nightlife – to be enjoyed after you’ve spent the day visiting the historical sites or UNESCO World Heritage-listed marine ecosystems.

Next, let’s head for the largest of the Balearic Islands: Majorca. This island’s magnificent scenery has inspired an array of writers, musicians and painters. And of course, you won’t want to miss a trip to Palma, Majorca’s capital and one of the most pleasant cities in Spain. ¡Es muy bonito!

Finally, if you feel a sudden urge to partake in watersports, the island of Menorca is for you. There you can practise sailing, windsurfing or water skiing. We also recommend you embark on a scuba diving session to admire the spectacular seabed around the island, which has long been a favourite among diving enthusiasts.
