Camping Rock of Solutré

The Rock of Solutré is not only listed as one of 40 Grands Sites de France, it is also a location which is very well known for its prehistoric digs and for its cliff, which is so familiar to the region. Located just 15 km from Mâcon, it is one of Burgundy's most famous natural locations.

An easy and pleasant hiking route will take you quickly to the top, from where you'll enjoy a breathtaking view over the Saône plain, the vineyards of Burgundy and the pretty little villages in the region. You may even be able to see the Alps!

At the foot of the Rock of Solutré there is an archaeological museum: prehistoric man used to live here more than 35,000 years ago. Come and find out about his past!
