5 August: Some reassuring news before your stay

Lacanau has been spared: the beaches are open, the shops, restaurants and the Lacanau-Océan market are open. All campsite facilities, activities and entertainment are operating as normal.

These past few days, several positive developments have confirmed the return to normal:

The Gironde Prefecture has announced the end of the air pollution episode, and the associated recommendations have been lifted.
The forest fire risk level has been lowered from red to orange (3/5), corresponding to the usual summer vigilance level. The cycle paths in Lacanau, as well as the Vélodyssée (EuroVelo 1) between Lacanau-Océan and Soulac, are once again accessible. Only the section between Lacanau-Océan Sud and Le Porge, towards the Arcachon Bay, remains closed until further notice.
Since 5 August, access to Lacanau via the D6 has been fully restored.

4 August: Air quality in Gironde: pollution episode has ended

Good news! The Gironde Prefecture has announced the end of the air pollution episode linked to smoke from the fires.

The measures and recommendations implemented over the past few days have now been lifted across the entire department. Air quality has returned to a normal level, allowing you to fully enjoy your stay and the many activities available in Gironde.

The campsite continues to welcome you in the best possible conditions, so you can enjoy your holiday with peace of mind.

3 August: Yelloh! Village Les Grands Pins has reopened

Since 31 July, Yelloh! Village Les Grands Pins has been welcoming holidaymakers again. Customers are already back, enjoying their holidays, the beaches of Lacanau and the many activities available both at the campsite and in the surrounding area.

Following the fires that affected the region, the team at Yelloh! Village Les Grands Pins would like to reassure you: the campsite has been preserved. The facilities, accommodation and all services are fully operational to welcome you in the best possible conditions.

The team at Les Grands Pins campsite and Yelloh! Village would like to warmly thank customers for their understanding, patience and solidarity during this exceptional period. We would also like to thank the teams, emergency services, authorities and everyone who was mobilised for their commitment.

31 July: reopening of Yelloh! Village Les Grands Pins confirmed for 1 August

Yelloh! Village Les Grands Pins will reopen from 1 August.

The campsite was not directly affected by the fires. The site and its immediate surroundings have been preserved, and all the conditions required to welcome holidaymakers are now in place.

The accommodation, pitches, aquatic areas and shops will be accessible from the reopening.

Arrival times:
Pitches: from 2 p.m.
Accommodation: from 5 p.m.

Access to the campsite: as traffic conditions may change, we recommend checking real-time traffic information before setting off.

For people who have completed the stay cancellation form, the requests have been duly taken into account and are currently being processed.

30 July: situation update at the end of the day

We understand your concerns and share your impatience.

Since the preventive evacuation of the campsites in Lacanau decided by the Prefecture on 28 July, all the campsite teams have been on site and are preparing for your arrival. They are ready to welcome you in the best possible conditions as soon as the authorities give their authorisation.

To date, this authorisation has not yet been confirmed. At this stage, the authorities are considering a reopening from 1 August. We therefore ask you to wait just a few more hours.

The teams at Les Grands Pins campsite and Yelloh! Village once again express their full support for all the services mobilised, who have protected our beautiful region over the past few days.

The evacuation of the campsite has now been completed and took place calmly.

Les Grands Pins campsite is currently subject to an administrative closure.

The teams are monitoring the situation in real time, in coordination with the competent authorities.

Each customer affected by the evacuation or with an arrival date scheduled in the coming days is being contacted individually to receive information and solutions adapted to their booking.

In connection with the ongoing fires in the region and in anticipation of adverse weather conditions in the municipality of Lacanau, the Gironde Prefecture decided on the preventive evacuation of campsites on 28 July 2026.

The campsite will not be able to welcome customers in the coming days. The campsite teams remain fully committed alongside the authorities to ensure the safety, information and support of holidaymakers.

27 July - the campsite remains open

Your arrival at the campsite is scheduled in the coming days.

In the context of the fires currently ongoing in the region, operations carried out by the emergency services are continuing and the authorities recommend limiting travel.

However, the campsite is open to the public, and the facilities and services are fully operational. The roads to access the campsite are also open, but some routes may be subject to changes: we recommend using a GPS navigation app to find the best route depending on your point of departure.

If the situation evolves or if new instructions are issued by the authorities, the customers concerned will be informed as soon as possible.

The safety, well-being and support of holidaymakers remain our absolute priority.

25 July - the establishment remains open

In the context of the fires currently ongoing in Gironde, the campsite is not under threat and no evacuation measure has been ordered by the competent authorities. The establishment remains open, and the teams are monitoring the situation in real time, in close contact with the emergency services and the authorities.

As the situation may change quickly:

customers currently staying at the campsite are invited to remain attentive to the instructions issued by the authorities, as well as to the information communicated by the campsite team.
customers whose arrival is scheduled for Saturday 25 or Sunday 26 July are invited to consult the official information before travelling, as the Gironde Prefecture is currently recommending limiting travel to the department.
