Camping Capbreton

In contrast with what its name would suggest, Capbreton is not in north-western France, but in Les Landes, on the southern Atlantic coast, just 20 minutes from Bayonne.

Camping holidays Capbreton

Come and enjoy a camping holiday in Capbreton and make the most of its sunshine, lovely beaches and location, right in the heart of the Pays Basque. With its rich folklore and culture, over the years Capbreton has turned into a very well-regarded seaside resort. Crossed by the Hossegor canal, this town has all you could need for a lovely stroll along its banks. Construction of the canal meant a harbour could be created inland, where you can potter around and look at the boats.

In the town, you can wander down the alleyways and discover the typical red and white houses dating back to the 15th and 16th centuries, including the famous "Maison de Rey", an imposing dwelling in which King Henry IV of France stayed. But above all Capbreton is a magnificent beach protected by the Estacade, a large jetty that stretches 450 metres into the ocean, which was built in the early 20th century. Capbreton is also home to a gentle way of life, exemplified by regional cooking that is famous throughout the world, including foie gras, confits and gésiers. So many different ways of preparing duck, which all holidaymakers just love!
