Lovely site in great location. Clean rental unit with all facilities we needed. Had one meal at the restaurant which was delicious and a great setting and atmosphere, a little expensive but we expected it to be so we were prepared. Great that the shop was open all hours. The only downside was that the snack bar was closed on the Saturday and Sunday of our stay as we had planned a pizza night. Oh, and a very loud toad or Bullfrog in the lake that kept us up the first night as we had windows open so sexy to keep them shut and air con on for rest of the stay which cancelled out the noise.

Lovely quiet site on the outskirts of the city. Approx. 50 min by public transport to city centre. The restaurant & snack venue both closed on Monday evening which was a shame as we arrived on a Monday!

Good position for visiting Bordeaux. Pitches could do with a bit more space between them but overall site is good. We had to leave 2days before we were meant to as family issues so didn’t get to enjoy the 4 days we booked for

We had a really good stay at the site. The accommodation was a good standard. The bar area was lovely though not open until later in the day, as was the ice cream stand. A pool bar would be a good addition. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was great and we managed 2 weeks without needing a car (we travelled by train) and the he public transport system is super easy to use and incredibly reasonable.

Good site with good facilities- however the female reception staff were unhelpful and the a la carte restaurant was awful - the steak was not cooked correctly despite sending it back and the chips were full of grease - expensive and not worth the money.

I've been camping.France for over 35 years, visiting a wide range of site's front.0 star village fields to 5 star sites, including others in the Yelloh chain, and this was by far the worst overall experience and value for money I've experienced. The facilities available are not commensurate with the pricing of the site, which only offers a tiny pool, little usable green space, and few other amenities. The private outdoor space is not usable due the volume of mosquitos and proximity to what must be untreated water ( this was so bad thst one of our party needed emergency medical help to treat infected bites). The staff whilst pleasant are mainly young people with limited customer service experience, they offered no help in finding medical help, offered a straightforward 'no' when asked if there were any facilities for teenagers, and didn't mention the need to buy advance tickets I enquiries about bus times. The site appears well located for accessing Bordeaux but the bus/ tram combination needed to reach the city is inconvenient and confusing with buses stopped mid evening. The site was advertised as the official campsite for the Olympic football, but there was no indication of this at the campsite, and when asked of olympics would be showing on a screen the response was that this only happened for big events...

The site completely lacks beauty. The pitches are ugly and unkempt. In addition, none of the water taps worked. Shower and bathroom facilities are decent and the bistro is first class. In fact if it wasn’t for the bistro I would score this site 1/10

I try and book yelloh sites when in France this year is no different. However having travelled through France and northern Spain for 2 months we were disappointed with Bordeaux du lac. The location is great to explore Bordeaux, but we would not return. It is not possible to get a drink before 15.30. The pitches are predominantly sand based which means having a motorhome you have to be very careful positioning on the pitch. It was not easy to walk around the pitch with big holes in the sand. The pitches are not prepared before new visitors. They could be raked and tidied. We did not use the bench seating, it was old and dirty. This is definitely not a 5 star pitch and we decided to leave 2 nights early and move to St Emilion where we have stayed before and love. The entertainment was very good and the bar staff welcoming and friendly. On arriving we tried to go into the restaurant, it was about 8pm. We were told we could not enter without a reservation although it was pretty empty. No attempt to try and fit us in. Given that it was not cheap to book in at Du Lac having to pay additionally for water is rather unacceptable. Having worked out how to use the water machine which we changed to English it then gave us instructions in Spanish!!! Overall very disappointing.

Onsite restaurant swarmed with flies had to leave our meals and pay in full zero satisfaction when said to the waitress. Mattress in mobile home so uncomfortable really bad sleep for the 7 nights. Saw several rats during our stay and one ran out of the bushes under my sunbed one evening. Lake water is filthy green and smells. Huge mosquito and fly problems covered in bites.
