Camping Lurs

On holiday with family or friends in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region? Then make sure you plan a trip to the village of Lurs, just 11km from Forcalquier.

Have you ever visited Lurs?

Perched on its lush green spur, high above the Durance Valley, the village of Lurs suddenly comes into view from amongst the cascading olive groves that surround it. You’ll immediately be struck by the charm of the stone houses along its narrow streets and the village’s delightful castle. From the latter, continue your visit along the “Bishops’ Walk”, a welcoming green pathway, bordered by fifteen oratories, that will lead you all the way to the Notre-Dame-de-Vie chapel.

What to visit?

You’ll find plenty of other religious buildings in the town, such as the Seminary and the Saint-Charles Borromée Priory. To the south, the Notre-Dame-des-Anges chapel stands on an ancient Roman site: the ruins of Alaumium.

From the Notre-Dame-des-Anges chapel, you won’t be able to help falling in love with the exceptional view before you, a panorama that takes in the Durance Valley, the Valensole Plateau, the Luberon and the Lure Mountain!
