Do you know Fátima?

The town of Fátima is not far from Lisbon in the centre of Portugal. Christians around the world know it as one of the religion’s most important places of pilgrimage. The town became famous in 1917 after the Virgin Mary appeared several times to three shepherd children and following the Miracle of the Sun on 13 October 1917. These events led to the construction of the Sanctuary of Fátima, which includes the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary, the Chapel of the Apparitions where the Virgin Mary is said to have appeared, and the Basilica of the Holy Trinity. Each of these monuments will surprise and astound you.
