For teenagers, going to Yelloh! Village is an opportunity to make new friends. It combines a family holiday with sporting activities supervised by our organisers and evenings with pals. Your teens will want to come back as it's the perfect balance between sporting contests, shows, friends rediscovered year after year, and good family times. Summer is the time to take a breather, skip the routine and change your relationship with your teenagers. In the campsite area, they will have time to themselves during their family holiday. During the day, they can do sports or other activities with friends, and in some campsites in the evening they can go dancing and enjoy themselves in discotheques specially designed for their age group.
You'll never believe this: it's paradise here at the club! Our parents are still sleeping in the cottage that we've booked for 2 weeks, while Lucas and I prepare breakfast. Lucas has gone to fetch the croissants and bread at the baker's shop while I lay the table on the terrace. The great thing about this place is that everyone can do their own thing.
10 am: I'm off to take a look at the teenagers' programme in the entertainments office, and to borrow a book from the library.
The activity leader tells me that there's a beach volleyball tournament this afternoon, and a day's canoeing tomorrow. We'll also prepare the Friday "show" - awesome! I meet up with Laura there - whom I met at the creative workshop. We're going to do a dance routine together, based on our favourite song.
Midday: Mum has finished her fitness class and Dad has already joined us at the pirates' bar. In the snack bar, a fidéoa is simmering gently: those noodles look delicious! We then decide to get together on the pool terrace, so we can enjoy the sunshine and the pool.
1 pm: A few metres separate us from the beach, as the campsite is right by the sea. We've brought some games so we can make the most of our afternoon on this lovely soft, fine sand on the beach. Dad and I play a game of ball while Mum works on her tan at the water's edge.
3 pm: Now, Mum and Dad are both enjoying lazing around on our "pirate island", their feet in the sand and a half-open book on their straw hat. I sense a siesta coming on. Meanwhile, I'm off to the beach-volleyball tournament.
7 pm: After a nice shower, we've been to fetch pizzas to eat on the terrace of our cottage before getting ready to go out.
9:30 pm: Time stands still at the pool; everyone holds their breath; the firework display begins: awesome and magical. The whole family is spellbound. We'll be off to bed soon, happy in the knowledge that tomorrow is to be another super day.
