You can also take the famous, 2 km long Passeig d’Empúries directly from the town, which is a great way of discovering the coast and the Greco-Roman remains here. You'll be sure of enjoying some fantastic views, featuring rocky mountains and wild nature! And the amazing viewpoints you'll find here are truly magical locations for watching the sunsets and sunrises!

 

Camping L’Escala

A visit to the town of L’Escala is also a chance to taste, savour and acquaint yourself with the flavours, scents and atmosphere of this town. Enjoy a stroll in its busy historic centre, with the sailors' cemetery and the area around the beach, before popping into the Archaeology Museum of Catalonia. Fine food occupies a prominent position here too: this is the land of the anchovy! You should enjoy it while you have the opportunity and try this local speciality in the form of pan con tomate or as tapas. Your taste buds will be on a voyage of discovery as well!

And when the evening arrives, you'll be able to enjoy the delights of the atmosphere of Spain, in the hubbub of L’Escala's town centre.

The countryside just outside L’Escala is also well worth a look, with the pretty mediaeval village of Sant Martí d’Empúries and the remains of former convents and churches dating back to the 5th century AD just waiting to be discovered!
