Come and explore the Pointe du Médoc and discover the art of living in Aquitaine. Come and make the most of the famously mild and sunny climate on our Soulac-sur-Mer campsite. With the Gironde estuary and such picturesque towns as Soulac-sur-Mer, Royan, and Montalivet-les-Bains, this region boasts a huge variety of scenery. Go surfing and take in the sea air along our many coastal paths.
Miles of fine sandy beaches stretching out before you as far as the eye can see... From sandcastles to water sports, the Gironde beaches offer sea air and unspoilt beauty to young and old. More than just a sport, surfing is a veritable art of living, as well as the beauty of our fine Atlantic waves that have been inspiring board-sport enthusiasts since the 50s. Come and surf the wave; you could almost imagine yourself in California or Hawaii...
What with its lively town centre befitting a totally captivating seaside resort, its neighbourhood of 500 typical "Côte d'Argent" villas, and "Notre Dame de la Fin des Terres" - the UNESCO-listed basilica with its perennial battle against the invading sand -, Soulac-sur-Mer is brimming with treasures to discover. With family or friends, you'll receive a warm welcome and be able to share its art of living and relaxed way of life.
900 kilometres of cycle tracks in the shade of the trees, near the coast or further inland, this network is a unique sight to behold. On foot, by bicycle, mountain bike or hybrid bike (all-terrain bike), or in tandem, this is the way to see some amazing scenery, between fine sand and pine forest. Cycle-touring enthusiasts, you'll have a whale of a time in Aquitaine!
Situated at the mouth of the Gironde, the great Cordouan lighthouse rises 68 metres above sea level. Set off on a boat trip to explore this unique lighthouse. The "Versailles of the Sea" is the oldest French lighthouse and one of the very few listed as a historic monument. If you're feeling brave, you can visit the lighthouse in the summer - you'll just have to climb the 311 steps separating you from the lantern.
The Médoc is a rich region that has been producing the greatest wines for centuries. With its best-known appellations, Saint-Estèphe, Pauillac, Saint-Julien, and Margaux, you'll taste some unique flavours. Come and discover chateaux and estates in magnificent landscapes.
With its gastronomy and art of living known throughout the world, Aquitaine produces culinary delights and supplies almost half of France's fine produce. Bayonne ham, oysters from Arcachon, ewe's cheese, Agen prunes, foie gras... the people of the south-western corner of France have succeeded in sharing the flavours of this unique region. Visit the Gironde markets and sample the delicious local produce.
