5 good reasons to visit our region

With its unique setting in the heart of the Montaiguillon Forest, Yelloh! Village Paris Ile de France invites you to take advantage of the exceptional heritage our region has to offer. The Ile de France sparkles with a thousand treasures, including Paris, city of light and an outstanding cultural and natural heritage. It also boasts nature parks and theme parks. Disneyland® Resort Paris is nearby, so why not pay a visit? Hurry and come and discover the Ile de France region. Whether you choose to rent a cottage or camp, you will soon fall under its spell.

1. The natural beauty of the Montaiguillon Forest and the department of Seine-et-Marne

If you long for the great outdoors, our region is one big adventure playground. Whether on foot, horseback or bicycle or whether sailing across water or through the air, you will discover thousands of hectares of forests and nature reserves, of which the beautiful Montaiguillon forest is just one. Walk with family or friends and take a deep breath of fresh air, just an hour away from Paris. Don't forget to come and explore our picturesque villages, such as Barbizon, a haven for landscape painters and the beautiful castles of Vaux le Vicomte and Fontainebleau.

2. Disneyland® Resort Paris

Our Yelloh! Village is the ideal starting point from which to go and visit the wonderful world of Disneyland® Resort Paris. Something to please adults as well as children! Less than one hour by car and you will be ready for a day in the Magic Kingdom of dreams and fantasies: its five imaginary countries take you on a journey from the Far West to the Far East and into the Sleeping Beauty Castle.

The new Walt Disney Studios theme park will attract people in search of extreme experiences. Plunge into freefall from the Tower of Terror; don't miss Space Mountain or Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom: a ride that sends you hurtling through a mine in a wagon. Designed like a cinema studio, the Walt Disney Studios Park enables people of all ages to enter the magical world of cinema. At the end of the day, don't miss the Disneyland® Light Parade: every single character, from Mickey Mouse to Stitch, and not forgetting Nemo, will put on a fantastic extravaganza that you will never forget.

3. Among the Big Cats

More than 120 big cats to see, on an exceptional 60-hectare site!

Unique in Europe, the big cat park has rare species born in captivity, and grouped together according to their original continent. There are 4 circuits, taking you on a tour round the world.

You will love to see a surprising Amur Leopard or White Tiger, or a Snow Panther, a marguay or a Siberian Lynx. Adventurers in the making will be speechless when they see the European Cheetah enclosure!

4. The mediaeval town of Provins

Just 16 km away, the fortified town of Provins is one of the Champagne region's treasures. It was designated as a World Heritage site in 2001 by UNESCO in order to preserve the architecture of one of the world's great mediaeval towns. The Caesar Tower is the town's emblem. It is the only known octagonal dungeon with a square base. The Tower, which was mainly used as a prison, is covered and contains bells mounted on a wooden frame dating back to the 17th century. A staircase takes you up the tower where you will find the Governor's room. All so be sure to visit: the Porte de Jouy (Door of Jouy), la grange aux Dîmes (Tithe Barn), covered market and the 10 km of underground passages. To entertain the children, mediaeval shows are performed every day from April to November, with falconry displays, performers on horseback and art depicting war in the Middle Ages. There are also activities and shows to take you back to the days of knights in shining armour!

5. Paris, city of light

Whe you leave Yelloh! Village Paris Ile de France, why not visit the most beautiful city in the world? Surely there is no one who does not long to discover our beautiful capital city and the treasures it has in store? Whether you have a long weekend, a week or month to explore, you will never cease to be dazzled by its beauty.
First stop: the Eiffel Tower, the most famous monument on the planet, then on to the Cathedral of Notre Dame de Paris: Gothic masterpiece and a symbol of the old Paris. Final stop: the Sacré-Cœur at the summit of Montmartre. You will still have time for romantic walks along the Seine. You could stop off at the Louvre, the most visited museum in the world, to see the Mona Lisa and her enigmatic smile.
Round off your visit with a trip on a bateau-mouche to discover Paris, her history and monuments, a unique boat trip harmonising leisure and culture.
