5 good reasons to visit our region

Our campsite the Yelloh! Village Le Fayolan lies in the heart of amazing natural beauty with its lakes, rivers, waterfalls, forests, vineyards. At the heart of our picturesque and remote valleys nestle Jura's most beautiful villages. This beautiful region is the ideal location to slow down and restaure your energy through nature. Here all the activities are possible, including bathing in the clear lake waters.

1. 550 km of hiking trails

Jura's main charm is obviously Nature. What better way to discover it than these footpaths which cross it in the best known sites and in the remote corners? Experienced hikers, the GR® or GR de Pays® ten offer you weeks of hiking. Walkers and families, dozens of circular walks taking between 1 and 7 hours let you discover all Jura's facets at your own pace; making particular mention of those called "discovery paths", because they will teach you a bit more, through a booklet or signs arranged along the route, on the peregrine falcon, the abbey of Gigny/Suran, the policeman's hat or the ponds of Bresse.

2. Jura’s lakes and waterfalls

Do not miss the Hérisson Waterfalls route, the Haut jura tourist train, the Baumes-les-Messieurs and Moldon Caves, and the new House of Waterfalls. At the Hérisson Waterfalls many viewpoints will let you contemplate the magic of rushing water in every season - the La Frasnée valley and its waterfall. The house of waterfalls awaits you at the base of the spectacular fan-shaped Eventail waterfall. Our audiovisual and museographic area will immerse you in an amazing, playful world in the heart of a natural heritage area classified as remarkable: the Hérisson valley, its waterfalls, its history and legends.

3. Traditional artistic know-how

Who does not know the pipe of Saint-Claude and the toys of Haut Jura? Here, craft regains its prestige. Jura is the region of the child and the toy: Jura created the wooden toy. A children's festival takes place every year at the beginning of July with over 50 workshops for 3 days at Moirans en Montagne, the toy capital. You will also have a choice between Fort des Rousses with its 25,000 cheeses, the museum of the pipe and the diamond and the spectacles museum in Morez, the cheese shops, the woodworkers, and the Royal Saltworks of Arc-et-Senans.

4. Amazing gastronomy

Jura is synonymous with gastronomy! A sampling of the wines and cheeses of Jura. The fondues, smoked meats, cheeses and yellow wine are all products typifying the know-how of Franche Comté, and can be eaten in many small restaurants and hotels nestling in the villages. Jura is a genuine area where the famous Comté and Morbier cheeses are made in the traditional way.

5. An excursion to Geneva

A coach trip leaves from the campsite every Friday in July and August. If you are in Geneva, be sure to visit the following places: the bay of Geneva and Lake Léman, with its famous water jet, a dazzling plume of white foam which reaches a height of 140 metres. Its quays with their well-stocked flowerbeds, its string of parks and its old residences. On crossing the Mont-Blanc bridge to the left bank, you arrive at the English Garden: two curiosities, the famous flowery clock, a reflection of the clock- and watch-making industry characteristic of the town, and the National Monument, which commemorates the union of Geneva and Switzerland in 1815.
