This was the third time we have stayed in a Yelloh Village resort. We had been very happy with the standard in the past, having stayed at Port de Plaisance and le Ranolien in previous years. We were disappointed with the quality and service of L'Ocean Breton and as a result, it is unlikely that we will choose Yelloh Village for our future holidays. The cottages in Port de Plaisance and Ranolien were lined horizontally, meaning that each one had a good amount of space in front for the children to play and to have a barbecue. The one in Ocean Breton was sideways on, with very little space around the cottage and not much sunlight. The cottage itself was in a poor state of repair, with the terrace dipping in the middle, the shower, toilet and sink in need of plumbing attention and the furnishings looking tired. Around the campsite, there were some positives. The new pool was lovely and the accrobranches was very good. Minigolf should not be advertised - this looks as though it was built in the 60s and has not had any work or attention since. The most distressing part of the holiday was that our 6 year old son's toe was sucked into the vent in the swimming pool. He was terrified and could not get out of the pool. The lifeguard was nowhere nearby; another tourist freed his toe from the vent. His toe was badly cut. The lifeguard arrived, but offered no assistance, simply suggesting that we drive him to the hospital for an x-ray. The reception were very unhelpful. We had to take our son to the hospital. Fortunately, the toe was not broken. For the remainder of our stay, we were very disappointed that no one on the campsite showed any concern for our son. No one asked after his well-being; this was shocking, given that the accident was entirely the fault of the campsite. It was even suggested that our son had stuck his own toe in the vent! We were appalled at the terrible level of customer care shown.

Found the holiday to be superb and the site itself excellent. The staff and facilities were excellent. The only problem was at the start of the holiday when we were checking in.We arrived on site early and were expecting to go on to our pitch at 12.00 but did not get on until 14.00.We were left in the car park with our three young children. Once allowed on to our pitch we then proceeded to set up our caravan only to be told 25 minutes later that we had to move to another pitch. This was very frustrating after a long night/day of travellin.

Great location Friendly, efficient staff in reception, speaking good English.Nice pool area, nicely mainteined plants, good family oriented atmosphere- relatively quiet,no loud parties.Could the indoors pool be heated perhaps? It would be nice to have an indoors quiet place ( a cafe?) to read, play chess, use internet, have a cup of coffee, etc if the weather is not good( and less noisy than the bar).Could the manor house downstairs rooms with the outside deck be used for that? Not very well maintained and relatively small toilets and showers area.

Accomodation was good. To improve it, there could have been a few more cooking utensils like wooden spoons, laddles, serving plates. The depost for the cycles seemed high and could discourage hiring them. As we were staying at the resort at the end of August, the activities seemed to have wound down quite a bit which was a shame - tree climbing, for example. However, overall we had a lovely time.

It was a lovely site, a beautiful position with very nice facilities. However it did not seem particularly well managed, it was the end of the season, the staff no longer cared very much, and the site just seemed to be managed for the convenience of the staff rather than the customer. Examples are: 1) We rented three chalets, they took a deposit on site of 160 euros per chalet, which they said was to cover anything missing. They refused though point blank to give us an inventory. This really worried my father in law and half ruined his holiday, because his chalet was obviously missing various items, however reception just would not help or reassure. So he spent a lot of the holiday worrying that he would lose his deposit - in fact he is still worrying that the deposit will come off his credit card. 2) My son loves bouncy castles - the ones on site were unuseable because they were so dirty and covered in leaves, but nobody would wipe them down. We generally had a feeling on the site that it was the end of the season and they all just wanted to go home, which was a shame as the site is very good.

pools a little cold as weather not great during our stay. General facilities were excellent, toilets and shower rooms were kept very clean. Pitches were a fairly good size but we requested a large pitch for our oversize tent and ended up squashed onto a pitch that was too small. Somebody else had used the pitch reserved for us.
